Stay tuned for SAMT’s new podcast series.
Through a series of informal, friendly interviews with native speakers, learn basic musical phrases in a variety of languages.
We believe music therapists and music educators can better serve a multicultural population if they are equipped with the tools to learn functional, specialized language. Podcasts will teach basic vocabulary, including instrument names and pertinent phrases such as “sing with me,” “Do you like this music?” and “Let’s play the guitar!”

Members of the Student Association for Music Therapy engage in educational and promotional activities in the field of music therapy. Members also provide service to the community and participate in regional and national conventions.
What is Music Therapy?
According to the American Music Therapy Association, “music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.”
